Objective To explore the application effect of advance care planning in hemodialysis patients. Methods A total of 80 hemodialysis patients who were treated in a tertiary hospital in Zhengzhou from October 2020 to June 2021 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into a control group and an intervention group with 40 cases each. The intervention group was implemented with a 4-week advance care planning, and the control group received the routine care. The death attitude profile-revised scale, the Chinese version of the meaning in life questionnaire and the patient dignity inventory scale were used to compare the differences in death attitude, meaning of life and dignity between the 2 groups of patients. Results After the intervention, the patients in the intervention group changed their attitude toward death;the score of meaning of life was higher than that of the control group;the score of dignity was lower than that of the control group;the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Advance care planning can help hemodialysis patients change into a positive attitude toward death, increase the sense of meaning in life, and maintain the dignity of patients.

As the prognosis for adolescent and young adult cancer patients improves considerably, their concerns about fertility issues are increasing. This paper summarizes the fertility information needs of young female cancer patients, introduces the application of 3 ways of fertility information support (the implementation of multi-disciplinary cooperation in fertility counseling, the development of fertility knowledge manual, and the provision of fertility decision aids). It also analyzes the reasons for the obstruction of fertility information support for cancer patients from the levels of health care providers and patients,in order to provide references for the development of cancer patients’ fertility information needs assessment tools and the construction of patient demand-oriented fertility information support program in the future.

Chinese Journal of Nursing    2016, 51 (1): 40-44.   DOI: 10.3761/j.issn.0254-1769.2016.01.008

Objective To describe the level and influence factors of stigma in people living with epilepsy. Methods A total of 109 epileptics were sampled from a hospital in Beijing through convenience sampling. The selected epileptics were asked to independently fill in designed questionnaires including patients’ general information fo rm,Chinese version of Kilifi Stigma Scale for Epilepsy, Social Support Rating Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and EPQ-RSC. The score of epileptics’ stigma and 11 influencing factors(independent variable) were analyzed through multiple step-wise regression. Results The score of epileptics’ stigma was 8.27±5.21 and 6 stigmarelated influencing factors were identified.Among these factors, family per capita income (regression coefficient was -1.325,standard regression coefficient was -0.209),course of disease(regression coefficient was 1.382, standard regression coefficient was 0.269),objective support (regression coefficient was -0.474,standard regression coefficient was -0.228) and availability of social support (regression coefficient was -0.877,standard regression coefficient was -0.291) were included in regression equations with an explained variance of 27.4% . Conclusion The stigma of epileptics in China keeps a lower level than that in other developing countries. The research results show that high social support and social support availability, good family economic conditions and short course of disease can effectively reduce stigma. The next step is supposed to focus on how to further reduce epileptics’ stigma through intervention.
